Hey, I'm Justin-Benjamin 'JB' Taylor! A Guyanese-Lebanese designer and educator, practicing as a Landscape Architect and Urbanist. Originally from Hamilton, I’ve been working and residing as a guest on unceded Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh territories in Vancouver since 2013.

In summer of 2020 I co-founded the Black+Indigenous Design Collective (BIDC) which is a non-profit with an audacious 2050 mission of at least doubling the representation of Black and Indigenous people in spatial design professions in Canada – primarily through awareness and education pathways. In Winter 2021, I co-created and taught an upper-level studio as an adjunct professor at UBC SALA where Master’s students were guided in a new way of approaching design through one’s cultural lens, learning how to facilitate design in community responsibly rather than prescriptively. These concepts are now being taught as part of our three annual intensive programs: DesignCyper™, PublicArt℠, + MST Futurism. Please take a look at our current programs and help share our mission with others if you appreciate our vision!
